Ensuring proper diapering practices for genital care for newborns

Proper diapering practices are important for the well being of the newborn.

Here are some steps that you should follow for the genital care for newborns:

  • Clean hands: Wash your hands thoroughly before cleaning or changing the diaper.
  • Organize stuff: Keep all the stuffs (diaper, cream, wipes) within your reach.
  • Changing surface: Always keep the changing surface clean and safe.
  • Proper fit: Make sure that the diaper fits comfortably, and check the proper alignment to avoid the leaks.
  • Moisturize genital area: Always moisturize the genital area to prevent the diaper rash.
  • Frequent checks: Frequently checking the diaper for wetness helps to maintain the cleanliness and prevent discomfort.
  • Diaper free time: Allow some diaper free time to let the genital area breathe, which can help prevent diaper rash.

Following these practices contributes to a healthier and comfortable experience for both the caregiver and the newborn.

  • Its absorption power is very fast and provides dryness as well as is comfortable to your newborn.
  • It has a special naval cut in front to protect the umbilical stump.
  • It has stretchable thigh support that helps to fill the gap between the thighs and the diaper and stops leakage as well.

Cloth diaper

After 0-3 months, you can use a cloth diaper for your newborn. I have used a diaper for my newborn mostly at night while sleeping or when we are travelling anywhere. But, when I am at home, I have mostly used cloth diapers for my newborn. Cloth diapers are almost diaper free time.
